Holiday Giving Program 2023

Thank you so much for thinking about holiday donations this year to make the season merry and bright for the residents in shelter. The Battered Women’s Shelter will continue to modify Holiday Giving to ensure best practices for the safety of our residents in shelter, staff, and you. You can shop or let Amazon drop! Items can be dropped off on THURSDAYS between 9am -6pm 11/16/2023 – 12/14/23 (no Thanksgiving drop offs please!) or items can be ordered online and delivered directly to BWS via USPS, FedEx, or Amazon to the Summit Shelter, 974 E. Market St. Akron, Oh 44305.

Adopt A Shelter

Throughout the year, our shelter residents are in need of NEW clothing, household, and toiletry items. The shelters always need general cleaning and paper products, food, and kitchen items.

We have created an Amazon Wish List that consists of these items. If you would like to donate any of these general items to supply the shelters, please contact Sarah (Sarahk@hope-healing.org) for a list of what to purchase. The delivery procedure is the same as stated above – donations can be dropped on Thursdays or ordered online, delivered to BWS by a delivery service. If you choose to send items to use via a different service than Amazon, please address the package to BWS “AAS”.

Holiday Financial Gifts and Gift Cards

A holiday financial gift will go directly to keeping the shelter up and running! If you would rather we can also specify a program of your choice when you make your contribution (ie. youth activities, technology, relocation services). Checks can be made payable to the Battered Women’s Shelter and mailed to 974 E. Market St. Akron, OH 44305 or an online contribution can be made below!

Adopt a Family – Santa Shop

This year the Battered Women’s Shelter will need to modify it’s Santa Shop program due to the on-going construction at the Summit Administrative Building. If you register for a family to adopt Sarah will send you specific instructions.
