Community Education

We work to educate our community to help prevent violence before it happens.

Our staff members offer a variety of educational presentations to groups such as congregations, civic groups, businesses, hospitals, probation departments, and anyone wanting to learn more about the free services we provide to survivors in our community.

We can customize a presentation to your group depending on age, topic, and length. Topics include Healthy Relationships, Consent, Power and Control, Cycle of Violence, Agency History and Services, Responding to Disclosure, Social Media Safety, Active Bystander, and Bullying.

Helping individuals to explore their boundaries and find their voices is an important part of what we do. For many participants, our presentation is the first time they have been given the chance to be able to discuss these issues. We always encourage critical thinking and questions.

Presenters are available seven days a week, including events, and settings can be formal with a Powerpoint presentation and screens, or a simple sit-down in a group with coffee.

Community Partnerships

At Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center, we are always looking to partner with community organizations in our area.

Some of our current collaborations include Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), Summa Hospitals, Summit County Probation Department, Asian Services in Action (ASIA Inc.), International Institute of Akron, and more. Please contact us to explore how we can work together.

Multilingual Outreach

Many of our outreach materials are available in multiple languages, including Nepali, Arabic, French, Spanish, Mon, and English. Phone interpretation is available on our hotline, and in-person interpretation is available for survivors accessing our services, all free of charge.

Tabling

Hope & Healing can provide a table with literature and informational giveaways at your event at no cost. Our tables are staffed with an outreach specialize who can answer any questions you might have.
