The Battered Women’s Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties serves all survivors of Intimate Partner Violence, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, creed, race, country of origin, immigration status, income, or ability. Please know you are not alone and we are here to help you.

Prevention

Our prevention efforts focus on educating survivors on healthy relationships, boundaries and open communication, along with ending the stigma surrounding intimate partner violence. The Battered Women’s Shelter also raises awareness in the community of IPV by hosting events, providing speakers at outreach events and training community members to join us in advocating for our survivors.

Holistic Services

Our programs offer support throughout a survivors healing journey, whether we are providing support to a survivor calling the hotline for the first time or providing shelter services to a family who was victimized, we are here to offer support and help. Our various services range from hotline support, shelter, court advocacy, support groups, free therapy and much more.

Trauma-Informed Care

Our staff understands the effect trauma has on a person and how it affects you physically, mentally and emotionally. At Hope & Healing we create a space for survivors to gain confidence and a sense of control by empowering you to overcome obstacles while making your own decisions along the way.
