Trauma-Informed case management

The Family Stability Program (FSP) is funded by the Summit County Department of Job and Family Services and offered by the Battered Women’s Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties. There are 5 caseworkers and one manager who oversees the program. Their offices are located in the administration building located at 974 East Market Street, Akron Ohio.

FSP provides case management and support for safety planning, community referrals, goal setting, and relocation assistance. Each family is assigned one case manager which will work with the family for up to 6 months. Family Stability helps individuals in shelter and members of the community who are facing homelessness due to domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking.

In order to be eligible for the program, a person must be a Summit County resident, have minor children or currently be pregnant, and must be a U.S. Citizen.

FSP Statistics

In 2019, Served 811 adults (771 females, 40 males) and 1719 children (827 females, 892 males), totaling 743 families.
