About Rape Crisis Center

Healing. Hope. Empowerment.

We are here for you

The Rape Crisis Center of Medina and Summit Counties serves all survivors, ages 13 and older, who have experienced sexual violence, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, creed, “race”, country of origin, immigration status, income, or ability. Please remember you are not alone, if you are a survivor we are here for you.

Prevention

The goal of our preventative education program is twofold; planting the seeds for healthy conversation revolving around consent, healthy relationships, boundaries, and open communication and ending the silence and stigma surrounding sexual violence. The Rape Crisis Center raises awareness by hosting events, providing speakers at outreach events and training community members to be advocates for survivors.

Holistic Services

We pride ourselves on offering programming which provides support through your entire healing journey. Whether we are meeting a survivor for the first time in the hospital following an incident or providing therapy and support groups to survivors whose assault occurred years prior. We have an array of services from our 24-hour hotline, court advocacy, support groups, free therapy and much more. The Rape Crisis Center of Medina and Summit Counties is unique in that satellite offices are housed at The University of Akron’s campus. Our Campus Manager and advocates provide prevention for all students and advocacy for those in need.

Trauma Informed Care

Our staff understands the effect trauma has on a person and how it affects you physically, mentally and emotionally. At Hope & Healing, we create a space for survivors to gain confidence and a sense of control by empowering you to overcome obstacle while making your own decisions along your journey.

If you would like to get involved we have many opportunities from volunteering to donating.
