Emily Wergner joined the Battered Women’s Shelter in March as the Summit Shelter Manager. Emily was born and raised in, Medina, Ohio and recently moved back after spending 20 years in Chicago working in social services. Emily comes from an organization called La Casa Norte, a homeless service agency in Chicago. She started in direct services and worked her way up to managing a youth continuum including Transitional Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing, Emergency Shelter, Youth drop-in centers and Youth in College, designed to support college students experiencing homelessness. Emily is proud to be back home and said she is very blessed to be connected to such a strong, client-centered organization.
